What to test before a multi-company rollout.
What should remain simple as teams, companies and approval structures become more complex.
The short answer
Scale should add capability without adding confusion. The strongest systems preserve a familiar employee experience even as the operating model grows behind it.
Name the boundaries
List legal entities, payroll owners, employee populations and which managers can see which teams. Ask the demonstrator to show an employee and manager from two different companies—not just a group-level dashboard.
Test the exceptions
Use a leave policy that differs by company, a reimbursement that needs two reviewers and a manager who works across teams. Check the resulting permissions, status history and reporting scope.
Validate the deployment size
Five employees and five thousand create different import, support and capacity requirements. Agree expected usage, rollout phases, integration ownership and acceptance tests. Team-size messaging should not replace a capacity review.
